For several years, Jasenko Rasol has been making photographs using the simple and seemingly unambiguous term “covered”. He is devoted to observation, noticing and expressing ideas, structuring the viewing process in a special way. He is not focused on issues of aesthetics, circumstances that photographs could/should express in a value system based on the imaginary. Covered contents and objects, as Rasol sees them, are metaphors of far simpler and more direct ways of stating the temporariness of relations to be found everywhere. The particularity of covered images, in fact, is not due to any temporal, territorial or cultural “exclusiveness”.
